Staff locked up as masked raiders target Wolverhampton store
Masked raiders locked four workers in a stock room today as they stole hundreds of pounds of cash and cigarettes in Wolverhampton.
The pair broke in through a rear entrance of Co-op on Tettenhall High Street at around 6.15am.
The staff were threatened and locked in a store room before the raiders took cash and a large number of cigarettes.
Nobody was hurt.
Det Sgt Paul Reeves, from Force CID, said: "Although this robbery happened early this morning there may have been people in the area making their way to work who saw something suspicious.
"We are looking at CCTV footage in the surrounding area and carrying out local enquiries and would appeal to members of the community to come forward if they saw anything.
"If you have any information that could help our investigation, please contact us as soon as possible."
