Car park plan for Wolverhampton gets the nod
A new pay-and-display car park will be created in the heart of Wolverhampton city centre.
The 25-space site will be opened within yards of the Wolverhampton St Georges Metro terminus, after planning chiefs gave the scheme the nod.
It is hoped it will stop commuters having to park on the outskirts of the city centre.
The site, at the corner of St Georges Parade and Bilston Street, adjacent to Sainsbury's, is currently shielded from view by advertising hoardings and fencing.
As part of work to prepare the site a new entrance will be installed along with a new footpath crossing.
Eric Hudson Architects, who are based in Tenbury Wells, submitted the proposal for the car park.
It is hoped the development will help draw shoppers into the city as plans move forward for a £5 million revamp.
