While some approved of the new design, saying they preferred it to the current kit, others described it as "plain" and complained about the £42 price tag for an adult shirt.
One fan who will be definitely snapping up the new kit when it goes on sale on Thursday is lifelong Wolves fan Shane Hitchens.
The 16-year-old, of Lilac Drive, Wombourne, who will start in the army next September, said he had followed the club since he was a child, and was not put off by its £42 price tag.
The 16-year-old said: "I think that's better than the current home strip. It all fits into the shirt much better. I will most probably buy the new one."
Wolves unveil new Puma kit for next season
Driver Simon Kirwan, a father of five from Wordsworth Road, Bushbury, however differed in his view of the new kit, which has a more modern V-neck design, compared to the current season's collar, as well as featuring next season's sponsor's logo across the chest, whathouse.co.uk.
The 52-year-old, said: "I am not too impressed to be honest. It's a bit plain. I don't think it's particularly good value. I don't think any football shirts are good value for money, though."
Jaguar Land Rover worker Jason Tonks, from Tipton, however said he was disappointed with the kit manufacturer Puma.
The father of three, aged 36, said: "It's a bit plain. Puma was good back in the 1980s. I wear a Barcelona top because I like them and I like Nike, its manufacturer.
"I will buy a strip for next season but it will probably be the away shirt. I don't really mind first division football to be fair."
His girlfriend Jean Howells, also living in Tipton, and aged 25, added: "I prefer the away one as I don't really like orange as a colour.
"I think all football shirts are way too expensive anyway."
Mark Williamson, an administration worker from Hackford Road, Lanesfield, however said he would be rushing to the shops to buy his partner Phil Coley a new kit as soon as they were available.
The 32-year-old, said Mr Coley, a former season ticket holder, aged 27 and who works for Safestyle UK windows, would love the new kit.
Mr Williamson said: "My partner is a massive fan. I like the orange one. I like the new style of neck, I like it better than last year's kit.
"I'd definitely buy this one. I think it's value for money and I've been a fan since I was seven years old."
Sales worker Tim Kirby, of Park Road West, Penkridge, said he would also buy the new shirt for his seven-year-old daughter Niamh. He said: "It's a lot better. It's more simple and I prefer the new neck. I did buy the current shirt earlier this year because I'm a bit retro.
"I do think it's a bit expensive, though, considering how they have been playing this season."
Fans were also today going online to voice their views on the new kit.
Barry Gellamy said he was a fan of the new kit, adding: "I like them, a vast improvement on the Burrda kit we've had for the past three seasons."
Another supporter Mike Pearson joked: "Since we are headed for League One, we should be wearing plain cotton T-shirts with hand-written numbers on the back!"
The new shirts go on sale on Thursday, when season ticket holders will be able to buy them from the Molineux Megastore from 5.30pm-8pm. The shirts are now available to order on-line or in the stores and will be available to collect from the Molineux Megastore on Friday from 5.30pm-7.30pm, or at the Dudley Street store on Saturday from 8am-9am.
The Megastore will then reopen for sales from midnight until 2am on Saturday where staff – who would be working anyway to prepare for the game – will be on hand to assist supporters.
The Megastore and Dudley Street store will re-open at 9am on Saturday for sales.
The club announced earlier this year that What House? was its new main sponsor in a deal with a potential to earn £1 million.
It signed a two-year deal with the on-line property search company in moves that could bring in a seven-figure sum based on performance-related elements. What House? has sponsored the back of Wolves shirts this season but will take over the main sponsorship from sportingbet.com from the start of June.
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxley said he was pleased when the deal was announced and added: "We're delighted What House? have decided to become our main sponsor, after a year supporting the club as the sponsor of the back of the first-team shirts."
Season ticket holder or members purchasing a new home and away shirt will earn double merchandise cash, so a supporter buying an adult home and adult away shirt together would earn £16.80 in merchandise cash to redeem in store at a later date.
