A beefburger bought from The Pig Out in Stafford Street was found to contain horse DNA, the Food Standards Agency said.

Joanne Pardoe, who runs The Pig Out, said: "It was just the burgers, they sent some away for testing and I informed the suppliers straight away. I didn't know there was any horsemeat, you don't expect it."

Asda said that "very low levels" of a painkilling medicine, known as bute, were detected in the Asda Smart Price Corned Beef.
