The Aquarius Ballroom is due to reopen at the multi-million pound Victoria Shopping Park in Hednesford two years after it closed as part of the major town centre revamp.

Mike Allsopp, who runs the site, revealed today that every Friday and all Saturdays except two are booked out until 2014. More than 14 community groups have also taken up regular weekly slots. The venue is due to open imminently.

He won the tender for the venue at the end of last year. He previously ran the old Aquarius Ballroom which was demolished after 60 years. He said: "It's gone berserk – I've had to turn people away."

Among the regular weekly sessions will be tea dances, ballroom, zumba, line dancing, rock 'n' roll, baby massage and yoga and even vintage clothing sales.
