Pelsall's long-awaited new library was opening its doors to the public today.

It is part of the £4.5 million Pelsall Village Centre in High Street.

The library will open alongside a new children's centre and follows on from the opening of a doctor's surgery at the site.

It replaces the former library in Norton Road and will open with longer hours and will stay open at lunchtimes unlike its predecessor.

Councillor Marco Longhi today hailed it as a "big deal" for the village.

He said:? "I'm absolutely delighted and overjoyed we have finally reached this goal."
