UB40 and Lady Gaga tribute acts to perform at Darlaston charity night
UB40 and Lady Gaga are coming to Darlaston. Well, sort of.
Tribute acts honouring the musical stars will be among the performers at a charity night in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
A number of singers and comedians have signed up for the charity fundraiser at Darlaston All Active in Willenhall Road next month.
It has been organised through staff at Juniper Training which helps to get 16 to 18-year-olds in the Black Country into apprenticeships or further training.
Comedians Pam Ford, John Pendal, Jack Kirwan and Lovdev will be providing laughs at the event being held on April 19.
While music will be from the UB4T tribute band, GaGa Experience and Midlandssinger Ivan Jones.
It has been organised through the Wednesbury and Brierley Hill branch of Juniper with Paul Nightingale and Tracey Gill.
It follows the success of a show last year where around £2,000 was raised towards the Teenage Cancer Trust.
More acts are being put on this time to attract even more people. Food will also be available at the event.
Mr Nightingale, aged 24, from Wednesbury, said: "We want people to be going away thinking they have had a great night, we want to make it an evening to remember.
"We work within the community and wanted to give something back.
Up to 300 tickets have been made available with sales going well so far, organisers say.
Tickets are £10 and for more details visit the www.cancomedy.co.uk website or call 07594 106241.
A series of fundraising events have been held by the Juniper branches across the Black Country region including walks and car boot sales in order to raise money for charities.
