Teenager charged with killing Black Country Pc

A teenager has been charged with the manslaughter of an off-duty West Midlands Police officer who died after a scuffle in a Wolverhampton street.

The 18-year-old, from Bilston, is accused of killing Pc Chris Findley and released on bail to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on March 27.

A 20-year-old woman has been cautioned for assault and a second woman has been released and no further action will be taken.

Pc Findley, 33, died in hospital 10 days after being involved in a 4.30am scuffle in Darlington Street, near the city centre Divine bar, on January 28.

Police said at the time that Pc Findley, who worked in Smethwick, was punched and left unconscious in the road.
