Hotel is lined up in £6m scheme

Plans for a £6 million hotel and restaurant on a main gateway in to Stourbridge have been given the go-ahead by borough councillors.

The Premier Inn will be built on land just off Birmingham Street after the scheme was unanimously approved last night.

The 80-bed hotel and Brewers Fayre restaurant is expected to create 43 full-time and 22 part-time jobs, as well as positions during its construction.The hotel will have its own access road to be built off Birmingham Street and will have 122 car parking spaces.

The floor area would be 3,591sqm, with 719sqm of being for the restaurant which would front onto Birmingham Street. It is hoped the L-shaped building could be open as early as spring next year.
