Golfer airlifted after collapse in Lichfield

A man has been airlifted to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest while golfing in Lichfield.

Paramedics were called to the Lichfield Golf and Country Club, in Twenals Lane, Elmhurst, at about 11.50am yesterday after the man collapsed on the fairway.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said fellow golfers used the club's defibrillator which restarted the man's heart.

He was flown by air to New Cross Hospital. His condition is believed to be critical but stable.
