Pounds falling off for pair in fitness drive
Two slimmers have powered their way to further weight loss while on a month-long fitness drive to shed the pounds.
Express & Star readers Trevor Fletcher and Stephanie Brough are now more than halfway through a 30-day boot camp style course at Chris Jewkes Fitness, based in Danescourt Road, Tettenhall.
The pair won a competition giving them the opportunity to take part in 12 free sessions, which kicked off two weeks ago. They have each lost 2lb over the past week, taking their total weight loss to 4lb since their boot camp sessions started.
Mr Jewkes is leading them through gruelling personal trainer sessions, including circuit training and boxercise. They are also writing down everything they eat in a food diary to keep track of their diet.
Personal trainer Ellis Bailey said: "They've done really, really well. They are feeling fitter, stronger and healthier."
Mr Fletcher, aged 49, had already lost four stones within an 18-month period prior to taking up the new fitness challenge. The Sandwell Council civil engineer, of Trysull, originally weighed almost 20st but has shed the pounds through healthy eating and following a Weight Watchers course.
Mrs Brough, aged 42, of Willenhall, has just started her own recruitment business called Jobmatched Recruitment, and now weighs 12st 4lb. Mr Bailey added: "It is hard work and they have been committed. They both feel a lot fitter as well. At this stage it isn't as much about weight loss."
Last year's competition last year saw 43-year-old Kerry Collins, of Wells Road, Penn, crowned the biggest loser after she lost 2st 1lb in four weeks. Along with four other finalists she followed a strict exercise and nutrition plan and together having started with a combined weight of 77st 13lb, they finished at 72st 11lb – more than 5st lighter.
