Administrators Deloitte today confirmed the move to close the extra branches in the coming weeks in addition to 31 outlets that have already been given a notice of closure.

A further 760 of the collapsed firm's 4,190 employees are now facing redundancy with a programme set up to help staff find other work. The total number of redundancies stands at around 900.

Outlets in Wednesfield and Stourport are among those to close.

A member of staff at the Wednesfield branch, which has around seven staff, confirmed the store would shut.

Administrators said none of the sites will close immediately.

Spokesman Lee Manning said: "Having reviewed the portfolio with management, the store closure plan is an inevitable consequence of having to restructure the company to a profitable core which is capable of being sold.

"We would like to thank the company's employees for their support and professionalism during this difficult time.

"We are also grateful to the customers for their continued support."

The administrator said an employee helpline and an "employee assistance programme" are in place to help staff find other jobs.

Trading difficulties have been blamed on online competition and digital streaming of movies and games.
