The long-awaited new library will form part of the £4.5 million Pelsall Village Centre.

GPs have already moved into the doctors' surgery section of Pelsall Village Centre with the library and a children's centre soon set to follow.

Work started last June on the complex in High Street.

Doctors moved in early in December – a month after originally planned.

But in a report about leisure services being presented to Walsall Council next week, leisure boss Anthony Harris revealed the library will be completed by the end of January.

It will also include new self-service technology.

"The new library at Pelsall will open at the end of the month as part of the exciting new Pelsall Village Centre which will provide surgeries for four GPs, community health facilities, a library and a children's centre for local people," he said.
