A further 90 pieces have been found at the same field where the biggest ever haul of Anglo-Saxon gold was unearthed in 2009.

The items were found while the field, at Hammerwich, Burntwood, was ploughed.

Latest finds also include a possible helmet cheek piece, a cross-shaped mount and an eagle-shaped mount.

South Staffordshire Coroner Andrew Haigh will tomorrow declare whether the items are treasure.

Under the Treasure Act, people who find objects which could be treasure have to report the finding to the coroner within 14 days.
