New plea on fatal motorbike crash
The wife of a motorcyclist who died when his machine hit a wall near Stourbridge today made a fresh appeal for eyewitnesses to come forward.
Richard Garfield, aged 47, was riding a Honda CBR 600 bike when it struck a wall, in Stourton, on August 12. His wife Emma said she was desperate to find out what happened to him.
The inquest is due to take place in the new year following an investigation by Staffordshire Police.
But Mrs Garfield, of Lansdown Green, Kidderminster, said no eyewitness has come forward since an appeal was made following the tragedy. There were no other vehicles involved.
Mrs Garfield said: "It's very hard not knowing what happened. It was dry road. It was the night of the Olympics closing so there was no one about. I am hoping to jolt someone's memory. Maybe someone was putting out the bin and saw his bike. I just really want to know what happened that night."
Mrs Garfield said although no one saw the actual crash, some people did rush to his aid after it happened at the junction of Bridgnorth Road and Wollaston Road.
"I am also grateful to the paramedics who worked on him for more than hour."
The service engineer had gone for a ride when tragedy struck just after 10pm.
