Hit-run tragedy victim named
A man killed in a hit-andrun collision in Staffordshire has been named as Stuart Blackwell.
Mr Blackwell, aged 40, walking his dog in Burton Road, Streethay, at 7.40am on Friday when he was hit by a car.
He was on the pavement when a car which was travelling from the A38 towards Lichfield city centre hit him.
Mr Blackwell, of Manley Road, Lichfield, was pronounced dead at the scene, as was his dog.
Police said a small lightcoloured vehicle did not stop and carried on towards Lichfield. A 21-year-old man
from Lichfield has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on police bail.
Police say family liaison officers were offering support to Mr Blackwell's family.
The A5127 was closed between the Cappers Lane/Eastern Avenue traffic island and the A38 junction while officers carried out their investigations.
Police are appealing for witnesses to call them on 101
