Crews went to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School at around 10.20am yesterday after the Year 4 pupil got his knee stuck in a gap in a chair.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to release him within minutes.

Deputy headteacher Dianne Stokes said: "They swiftly managed to free the knee and I am pleased to say the pupil wasn't injured."
