Darlington Vintage has been based in a shop on Darlington Street for just over a year. The building it is housed in recently went up for auction which could have led to the business having to relocate.

However, it failed to sell and bosses say they are now going to be staying where they are for the foreseeable future.

The shop sells a range of clothing, shoes, handbags and bits of jewellery among other items such as hats and gloves and even vintage pieces for men.

It is run by Francesca White. Her mother Lynn, who helps run the shop, said: "People are very interested in vintage clothing. We have a lot of people come in who attend events such as revivals of the 1940s. We are staying here for the foreseeable future."
