Stourbridge Town Hall will be lit up under square plan
Part of historic Stourbridge Town Hall will be lit up at night as part of plans to create a new town square. The old Crown Centre is being replaced by a Tesco supermarket and shopping complex.
The scheme includes proposals to revamp the square at the bottom of the High Street to make it more attractive to shoppers.
The side of the town hall will form part of the square along with the entrance to the new shopping centre.
Tesco has now submitted an application for listed buidling consent to install 'feature lighting' on the town hall.
Spokesman Jonathan Simpson said: "The redevelopment of the Crown Centre is a major investment in Stourbridge and we are delighted we will be improving the local environment."
Councillor Shaukat Ali, cabinet member for economic regeneration, said that the move was part of the wider scheme to regenerate Stourbridge.
