Leon Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho was born to the new love in the eccentric performer's life, Lydia Longville who is 36 years his junior.

Lydia says he is the "most perfect and wonderful son" and just like his dad.

The flamboyant star, who swapped his home in Pensnett for the Worcestershire countryside after finding fame on X Factor, chose the name Leon, saying: "I want him to be brave, like a lion."

The 56-year-old star used to keep a lion as a pet while in his native Brazil after it was given to him by a lady friend when the animal was just eight weeks old.

Baby son Leon was born in the early hours on Sunday.

And Wagner said in a Twitter message: "God has blessed me with one more son; Leon Wagner, born at 1.57am.

"I've been up all night."

In another "tweet" he said: "My son Leon Wagner Fiuza-Carrilho was born 1.57am.

"Wow – I'm so grateful to his mom."

And Lydia, 20, tweeted to Wagner: "Thank you for giving me the most perfect and wonderful son – I love himstourbridg to pieces.

"He's just like you – even smiles like you."

Wagner met Lydia, who comes from Wordsley, when an ex student of his brought her to a gig at the River Rooms in Stourbridge in 2012, where he was performing at the height of his popularity just after that year's X Factor, the seventh series of the talent contest.

Eliminated

His crazy bongo playing and opera singing had kept luring the viewers to vote for him to stay in the competition but he was eliminated in week six of the season.

When Wagner revealed in August that he and Lydia were together and were expecting a baby in August, the star, who already has a five-year-old son with a former partner, said: "I can't wait to be a dad again."
