Free Google workshop to aid business

Dudley borough Businesses are being encouraged to attend a free Google workshop event this Friday. The Ruskin Glass Centre, Wollaston Road, Amblecote, Stourbridge, hosts the free 3pm-4.30pm event.

It will offer tips on improving web presence, boost traffic and increase business.

Dudley Council wants businesses to see how they can boost their online presence.

Councillor Shaukat Ali, cabinet member for economic regeneration, said: "We would encourage local businesses to make the most of this Google event coming to the borough.

"People will be able to get tips and advice from world leading experts at Google on how to get the most out of their websites to help boost their business."

Dan Cobley, Google UK managing director, said they knew small businesses actively using the Internet grew much faster than those with no web presence.

They hoped firms would come along to understand how important the internet is to growth, how easy it is to get online and how this can contribute to economic growth of the wider economy.

Sessions at the event, organised by the Ruskin Glass Centre and the Federation of Small Businesses.
