Comic Brian Conley quits jungle due to mystery illness
TV bosses today refused to give details of a mystery illness that has led to comedian Brian Conley dramatically quitting reality show I'm A Celebrity. . . Get Me Out of Here!
The 51-year-old star is due to appear in Birmingham Hippodrome's panto Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates from next month but his sudden departure from the jungle has raised fears over whether he will be able to star.
His departure comes just days after viewers of the ITV1 show saw him break down in tears following a confrontation with boxer David Haye.
TV bosses confirmed he had left the jungle after becoming unwell but refused to give any further details on what was wrong with him.
Only a brief reference was made to him leaving the show on last night's programme and the star's publicist has not commented so far.
