Stolen car smashes through park gates

The Land Rover crashed through metal fencing and was dumped on grass in the park.
Police were called at just before 3.30am yesterday following reports of a break-in and found the gates at the Aston Road entrance smashed. Police are now investigating after it emerged the 4X4 had been stolen. Councillor Anthony Harris, Walsall Council's portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said today: "The damage that has been caused at our Green Flag Award-winning Willenhall Memorial Park is a real blow as both the gates and one gate post are beyond repair."
