Sports stars cueing up for challenge
Top sports stars have swapped jobs for the day to try and beat each other at their own game.
World number one darts player Phil Taylor took on snooker player Judd Trump and former footballer and presenter Robbie Savage to try out each others sports.
The event, held at Rileys Sports Bar in Broad Street, Wolverhampton was to film for William Hill's Grand Slam Sport Swap Challenge yesterday.
Phil Taylor is the reigning darts champion and is currently taking part in the annual Grand Slam of Darts tournament at Wolverhampton's Civic Hall, while Trump is the number one snooker player.
Former Birmingham City player and Welsh International Savage has already proved he has more talents off the football pitch after taking part in the hit TV series Strictly Come Dancing, wowing judges with his hip thrusting antics.
Last night Adrian Lewis crashed out of the Grand Slam of Darts with a defeat to John Part, as Gary Anderson became the first player to book his place in the second round of the event in Wolverhampton.
Lewis, the PDC World Champion, followed up Sunday's 5-4 defeat to Tony O'Shea with a disappointing performance as he missed 17 darts at doubles in a 5-2 reverse to Canadian ace John Part 24 hours later.
That result, coupled with Gary Anderson's later Group E victory over O'Shea, means that Lewis cannot now qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament later this week. Anderson became the first player to secure his place in the last 16 courtesy of his second successive 5-4 win, and will meet Lewis in their final group game on Wednesday night. "This is my favourite tournament so it's great to be through to the last 16," said Anderson.
Today's action will see Groups A-D play their decisive final group games, with reigning champion Phil Taylor meeting 2010 winner Scott Waites in Group A.
