Jean Martyn joins Singing for the Brain
Organist Jean Martyn was on hand to share some of her musical expertise at the launch of a new singing group in South Staffordshire.
Jean was invited along to the first Singing for the Brain session, aimed at people suffering from dementia and also their carers.
Around 12 people turned up to the session which is being held each Monday afternoon at Wombourne Library.
Hazel Tatlow, from the Shropshire and Staffordshire branch of the Alzheimer's Society, said: "The group has been set up for sufferers and their carers.
"Research shows when people sing it stimulates their brain and makes them feel better.
"We want more people to come along and join in."
She said the maximum number they could accomodate each week was 30.
The session runs from 1.15-2.45pm.
Anyone interested in going along should call 01543 255955.
