The woman was driving along Battlefield Hill, close to the Red Lion Pub in Wombourne, when her car was hit by a 4X4 vehicle.

She pulled over and got out to check the damage and exchange details with the other driver.

But as they were inspecting the damage, two other men got out of the 4X4, ran to the woman's black Mercedes C200 and drove off.

Det Sgt Stuart Carter said: "This was a very serious robbery which we are investigating fully. Thankfully, the woman was not hurt in any way, but she was understandably left shaken.

"We're very keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the Mercedes being followed prior to it, or being driven away afterwards."

The woman, who is in her 50s and from Wombourne, had been driving along the A449 from Penn to Wombourne before the car was hit at about 11.20pm on Sunday. The driver of the 4X4 was Asian and had a local accent.
