A hedgehog rescue centre in Cheslyn Hay is overrun with the spiky creatures, many of which need a good meal.

Worried residents are handing more and more of the animals in to West Midland Hedgehog Rescue Centre after being concerned that they are underweight for winter.

Joan Lockley turned her home in Leveson Avenue, Cheslyn Hay, into the rescue centre and now has 40 hedgehogs she is looking to rehome.

She wants to find people who will take in the animals, feed them and keep them warm, until they hibernate and can be placed back in the wild.

She said: "We are inundated with hedgehogs."

Anyone who wants to help should call the rescue centre on 01922 419532.
