A total of seven police officers and three trading standards officials from Sandwell Council raided an end-terrace house on Star Foundry Drive at around 7.45am.

They discovered 19 boxes of trainers, around 30 coats and hooded tops, six full tracksuits and five handbags. There were also two suspected fake Barbour jackets in the haul.

The counterfeit goods included the brands Ugg, Adidas, Nike and the handbags were all branded as Jimmy Choo. They were all being stored in plastic bags in the living room and a bedroom of the house.

All the goods have been removed to be analysed by trading standards.

Tipton Police Sgt Steph Court said: "Members of the community had contacted us telling us that fake goods were being sold from this address.

"We were able to act on this intelligence and undertake the raid. These goods will have been bought for around £2,000, but they would have been expecting to double their money once selling them on."

Two people who were at the property at the time are helping trading standards officers with their inquiries.

Earlier this week Sandwell's trading standards department revealed they had uncovered up to £2 million worth of fake designer goods from an industrial unit in Oldbury.
