NEC Motorhome & Caravan Show welcomes new breed of campers

They used to be thought of as dreary getaways in rain-soaked destinations – but this is a new era and caravan holidays are big business.
Just ask anyone at Birmingham's NEC this week, where 90,000 people are descending on the exhibition centre for the Motorhome & Caravan Show.
With flat-screen televisions, luxury king size beds, en-suite bathrooms, and even car and motorbike storage, some of today's caravans and campers are a real home from home.
From relative bargains at £35,000 to extravagant £300,000 models, a host of lavish caravans are on show this week.
Many of the new breed of caravans and motorhomes include state-of-art heating systems – vital given the unpredictability of the British summertime – with air conditioning for when the mercury rises.
Eighties icon and actress Catherine Bach, who played hot-pant wearing Daisy Duke in cult US TV Show The Dukes of Hazzard, took a break from filming soap The Young and The Restless to officially open the show earlier this week.
On Saturday ex-England scrum-half and culinary genius Matt Dawson will be a guest.
