Girl, 12, hurt in tree fall

A girl was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling out of a tree in Wolverhampton.

The 12-year-old suffered serious leg and suspected pelvic injuries in the fall in Green Park Avenue, Bilston.

It happened yesterday at 4.10pm and the girl was airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Ambulance service spokesman John Hawker said: "Crews arrived to find a girl that had fallen around three metres from a tree.

"It is believed the child fell onto slabs below and had been unconscious.

"She received emergency treatment at the scene for serious leg and pelvic injuries.

"Pain relief was administered and she was immobilised using a pelvic splint, neck collar and spinal board."
