A "Glee" style choir launched in Stourbridge a year ago has grown to more than 150 voices – and is about to launch a new branch in Wolverhampton.
Got 2 Sing, run by performing arts and singing teacher Beth Dunn, has opened choirs in Bewdley and Worcester since making its debut in Stourbridge, and now also has a 15-strong junior section.
The three branches band together for big "gigs", which have included a "Summer Spectacular" with an audience of over 600 people at the Glades Arena in Kidderminster and singing outside Bewdley Museum when the Olympic torch relay passed through the town.
Got 2 Sing also entertained the crowds at Brinton's "Party in the Park" for the Queen's diamond jubilee celebrations. "We even had our first 'flash mob' when we sang for shoppers in Worcester city centre recently," said Beth, aged 27, who lives in Hagley.
"The feel-good factor and health benefits associated with singing are well documented and, with the popularity of the Military Wives and Glee, we are ready to expand."
Got 2 Sing will celebrate its first birthday with the opening of a fourth choir in Wolverhampton on September 25, when anyone interested in joining is invited to Blakeley Heath Primary School, Wombourne, from 7.30pm to 9pm for a free taster session.
Beth said: "We take popular songs, including motown, pop and gospel, and bring them to life with stunning harmony and toe-tapping, finger-clicking movement.
Got 2 Sing has helped to raise over £8,000 for local charities. Beth said: "2013 will be an exciting year with a tour to Paris, where we will perform at Disneyland, and a concert at Birmingham Symphony Hall.
"You don't need to read music or audition – just a desire to sing." More information is available at www.got2sing.co.uk or by phoning Beth on 07815 894788.
