The pitch will provide top-of-the-range facilities for football and hockey and is based at Cardinal Griffin Roman Catholic High in Cardinal Way.
It will be used by schools in Cannock and beyond in the day but available for community use in the evenings and weekends. The pitch is a joint project between the school and Cannock Chase Council with £319,000 funding from the Football Foundation.
