A bomb found in the back garden of a home has been detonated by explosives experts.

Houses along a 330ft stretch in Myvod Road, Wednesbury, were evacuated by police after the wartime explosive was discovered by the home owner at 3.15pm on Saturday.

The bomb disposal team removed the device to a nearby field at Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School in Wood Green Road at 6pm and carried out a controlled explosion.
