A man appeared in court today charged with murder after another man was allegedly deliberately knocked down by a car and killed in a Tipton park.

The victim, found dead in Jubilee Park yesterday morning, has been named as Terrence Powell.
It is believed the 58-year-old from Wednesbury was knocked down by a car in the park just before 8am.
Malcolm Parkes, aged 50, of Arthur Road, Tipton appeared at Sandwell Magistrates Court this morning charged with murder.
Parkes entered the court using two crutches.
He spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth. He was remanded in custody and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday.
The Powis Avenue park was closed for more than five hours yesterday as forensics teams scoured the site for clues. It was reopened at 1.30pm.
During the morning police officers were stationed at gates to the park and a cordon was put in place. A number of dog walkers are believed to have been in the park at the time the body was discovered.
Paramedics and the Midlands Air Ambulance tried to save the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the discovery, residents spoke of their shock at seeing the beauty spot turned into a crime scene.
Neighbourhood Sgt Steph Court today reassured residents the park was a safe place for people to visit.
She said: "This is the first time we have heard of something like this happening in the park."
