Legendary pop star Alvin Stardust is to perform in Hednesford.

The My Coo-Ca-Choo singer will belt out the hits at The Tackeroo Music Venue in October.

Real name Bernard Jewry and now an accomplished stage actor, the star will turn 70 next month.

He will perform in Hednesford on October 5.

Tackeroo owner Geoff Summerfield landed the intimate gig as he has links to Alvin's band. He said: "He's doing a one-off event for us. Alvin Stardust does major theatres, he's still a big puller. He's not been here before and I'm really looking forward to it, he's very good."

My Coo-Ca-Choo reached the number two spot in 1973, a year before Jealous Mind hit number one.
