£50,000 work starts at Cannock bus station

A £50,000 scheme to improve Cannock bus station was starting today, with drivers warned to expect delays.

Highways bosses said disruption is likely along the A34 Ringway in the town centre, as well as Beecroft Road and Park Road.

They want to make safety improvements following the death of 74-year-old Ann Draper in an accident at the station in July 2010.

The work includes improving bus lanes, pedestrian crossings, kerb areas and entrance and exits.
