A cyclist died after being hit by a lorry in Kidderminster today.

A cyclist died after being hit by a lorry in Kidderminster today.

Emergency crews were called to the junction of Stourport Road and Sutton Park Road at 9.15am.

The roads were closed to allow the air ambulance to land. But police said there was nothing paramedics could do to help the man, believed to be over 60 and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested in connection with the crash and is helping police with their inquiries.

The roads were expected remain closed for the rest of the afternoon and diversions were in place.

Pc James Stephens of West Mercia Police has appealed for witnesses to call 101, quoting the incident reference 98-S-190712.
