Shoe retailer Deichmann will move into Wolverhampton's Mander Centre, creating up to eight new jobs.

The firm will take over the former Poundland unit opposite WHSmith.

An extensive refurbishment of the shop unit is currently under way and bosses said they expected the branch to open some time in August.

Steve Burgin, of Delancey, the firm that owns the Mander Centre, said: "We are delighted to have secured yet another new brand for the Mander Centre.

"Deichmann is a strong high street retailer who will complement the great range of other brands that we already offer to Wolverhampton's shoppers."

The addition of Deichmann follows the opening of a string of new stores at the centre in recent months.
