Question marks had been hanging over the future of the former Shelley Campus in Alumwell, which closed in 2009 when students moved to the college's new £64 million Wisemore Campus.
Walsall Housing Group had expressed an interest in using the land as the site of a "health village" and had been given six months to look at its options.
