Clinton Cards shops to close up

A Clinton Cards store in High Street West Bromwich and a Birthdays branch in Kidderminster are to close by Thursday.

They are among the latest 122 stores, not included in the sale of 397 former Clinton group shops to United States company Lakeshore Lending, which are to shut.

Altogether 330 stores were not included in the sale and 43 were previously closed on June 8.

Joint administrators from Zolfo Cooper are still seeking to find buyers for the shops that are still trading.

Some West Midlands 36 stores have been bought by Lakeshore Lending, part of American Greetings Corporation. Two branches at the Merry Hill centre as well as others in Lower Brook Street, Rugeley and Dudley Street, Wolverhampton,are among those that are safe.
