A struggling retail park in Cannock is to undergo a revamp to inject new life into the site.
Changes are earmarked for several units at Linkway Retail Park, which is home to Halfords and McDonalds.
The current owners of the L-shaped building, The Strathclyde Pension Fund, say major changes are needed at the site, off the A5.
Manchester-based agents Savills Commercial Ltd, working for the owners, say closures of Land of Leather and Focus DIY in the last two years have been a cause for concern.
Andeep Gill, a Cannock Chase Council planning officer, said the owners wanted to improve the site.
He said: "They are looking at several changes, there's an extension of the former Focus DIY store and at Halfords."
Mr Gill said the applicants want to add mezzanine floors to many of the existing buildings and are considering sub dividing the DFS and Halfords store.
