Videos charting the progress of recruits looking to seal a place on West Midlands Police's firearms squad have been launched today.
The clips follow students - all fully-fledged police officers with a minimum two years' service under their belts - through a gruelling 10-week course.
Over the coming weeks, further film releases will feature different aspects of firearms training, including accuracy tests on the force's firing ranges and how to handle hostile situations.
Chief Inspector Paul Minor, firearms manager, said: "Our firearms officers are trained to the highest standards; these videos give behind-the-scenes insight to what the course involves.
"It's a tough physical and mental challenge because, unashamedly, I only want the best, most competent firearms officers on the streets of the West Midlands protecting the public. And I have to be 100 per cent confident in the ability of each and every one of them."
