Residents living next to a quarry in South Staffordshire are considering legal action against the owner for spoiling the peace of their village.

Dozens of householders are taking advice about compensation for the loss of enjoyment of their gardens and for being unable to keep their windows and doors open.
The resumption of excavations at the Cheslyn Hay quarry is a double blow for residents who are already disturbed by the clatter of machinery at the nearby recycling centre at Hollybush Garden Centre, on the A462 Warstone Road, owned by Jack Moody Ltd. The firm also operates the quarry on behalf of the owner, Streetly-based land developer Dr Nigel Roberts.
Residents expect up to 600 lorries a week travelling to and from Campions Wood. Secretary of State Eric Pickles approved a 30-year mineral extraction programme for the site in Cheslyn Hay in January.
Up to 2,000 tons of material will be dug out from the land off Wolverhampton Road on a daily basis. The quarry is near two schools, homes and junction 11 of the M6.
