Film buff Henry Darby-Cook is quids in after completing a 24-hour movie marathon at a shopping centre in the Black Country.

The 19-year-old media student joined dozens to take part in the Movie Mad event at Merry Hill, in Brierley Hill.

But he tasked himself with watching all the films in an attempt to win a prize of £250.

Top blockbusters, including The Dark Knight and Casino Royale, were being shown alongside family favourites Toy Story 3 and Shrek during the event which continued until midday yesterday. A huge screen had been erected in the centre's Fountain Square for fans to watch the films.

Henry, of Redlake Road, Pedmore, Stourbridge, is planning to study media production at Swansea University. "I'm a big film fan, obviously during my media course I have had to watch a lot of the classics like Scarface so this is great," he said. He managed to stay awake for the whole challenge.
