Nobody forgets their brush with royalty. If you have ever met the Queen, the memory stays with you for a lifetime.
Nobody forgets their brush with royalty. If you have ever met the Queen, the memory stays with you for a lifetime.
And we would like you to share your memories of the Royal Family with us.
The Queen has made numerous visits to the West Midlands during her 60-year reign, and if you met her during any of them, we want to know.
Perhaps you were in the crowds during one of her first visits to the region, when she spent St George's Day in 1957 touring various locations around Dudley and north Worcestershire.
Or maybe you were a pupil at Wolverhampton Grammar School when Her Majesty planted a tree there in 1962. She also inspected troops on parade at Molineux during that visit, and was presented with a bouquet by a seven-year-old schoolgirl from Wednesfield.
The Queen has been no stranger to Staffordshire, either. In 1980 she visited Saxon Hall School, as well as taking a tour of Shugborough Hall, the ancestral home of her cousin, the late Lord Lichfield.
In 2006 she returned to mark the 800th anniversary of Stafford's royal charter. During that visit she went on a walk about in the town's Market Square, where she greeted several well-wishers, before attending a service at the Stafford Collegiate Church of St Mary.
In 2002 she was greeted by well-wishers at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, near Lichfield. Maybe you were in the crowd then?
The Queen had a spot of car trouble when she visited the region during her Silver Jubilee year in 1977. That tour took in Dudley and Wolverhampton, but it was in Walsall where her car broke down. Mechanics Fred Budd and Chris Tate from the former P J Evans Rolls-Royce garage in Sedgley were called to the rescue.
She visited Wolverhampton and Dudley again in 1994, first calling in at Dudley Castle to unveil a new visitor centre, and then at Dunstall Race Course and Molineux. During this visit she also mingled with pupils from Newbridge Primary School.
You might have met the Queen in the Midlands or been introduced to her at a royal garden party. You might have been lucky enough to have received an honour from her, a reward for years of dedication tp a cause..
We want to hear your memories of a special moment in your life.
