A victim of serial fraudster Bill Williams has vowed to donate any money she gets back to the three-year-old daughter of a murdered Wolverhampton businessman, whose money he also took.

Sheila Haynes and her husband, Ronald, were conned out of their £95,000 life savings by former Tipton Town FC chairman Williams, aged 60.

The family of murdered father, Andrew Diack, were also targeted by the crook, who stole his £276,000 life insurance and pension policies.

The money was meant to go to Mr Diack's daughter Megan, but she is left facing an inheritance tax bill of £100,000 despite not getting a penny. Williams, of Chester Road, West Bromwich, has been ordered to pay just £36,000 to his scores of victims.

He must pay within six months or face a further 21 months in prison.

The bogus accountant is now serving five-and-a-half years for theft.

Funds were stolen through his Dudley-based accountancy firm, Williams & Co. Mrs Haynes, 67, of Barr Beacon, Walsall, said she would give whatever she received to Megan after hearing of her plight. "I spoke to Megan's mum when we met at court and everything that little girl has been through is just so sad," said Mrs Haynes, who is a full-time carer for her husband, a former transport firm director who suffers from dementia.

"I don't know if I will get much back from what Williams has taken, but I'm going to give the money to Megan. If I do get something I don't think it will be a lot. Megan may need it more than we do."

Megan's mother, 31-year-old Rachel Evans, of Stafford Road, Fordhouses, Wolverhampton, said that she was grateful for her generosity.
