Tiger the tabby cat is back in purring good form after being rescued from a very tight spot by a team of firefighters, the RSPCA and a vet.
The moggie got stuck in a two-and-a- half inch gap between two garage walls near her Stourbridge home.
She was wedged about three feet into the gap and it seemed impossible to get her out. But, eventually, firefighters removed some bricks from inside the kitchen at one of the houses in Oakfield Close, Amblecote, and, after being sedated by a vet, she was pulled out.
The one-year-old cat escaped with grazing to her paws and slight damage to her claws, for which she needed a minor operation, and she is now fully recovered and back home in Oakfield Close.
Her relieved owner, Samantha Harper, aged 27, said: "When I saw where she'd got stuck I just couldn't believe how she'd got in there.
"We only went out for a couple of hours and came home to find Tiger had caused havoc in the street."
Tiger's loud cries alerted residents about her precarious predicament and they called the RSPCA. The charity's inspector Jackie Hickman arrived and, as the cat was completely out of reach, called for help from the fire service and a vet.
She added: "To rescue Tiger from this situation injury free was fantastic and would not have been possible without joint brainpower and a huge team effort."
