Two kittens and their mother were dumped in a cardboard box by the side of the road in Wolverhampton.

The black and white cats were found with their mother on Tettenhall Road not far from the Connaught Hotel.

A passer-by saw a box on the pavement and investigated, finding the cats inside.

They were taken to Connaught House Veterinary Group which is now looking for a new home for the six-week-old kittens.

They were brought to the vets just over a week ago. Veterinary nurse Hannah Greaves said: "The cats are in good condition and they are ready for a new home.

"We've separated the kittens from their mother. If the kittens could be re-homed together that would be ideal but we just want them to go to good homes."

Anyone who can offer the kittens a home should call 01902 424725.
