Spectacular circus troupe Cirque du Soleil set the stage alight – literally – as they brought their show Alegría to the NIA.
The breathtaking show was a rollercoaster of acrobatics, as the 55-strong performers and musicians showed just why the company is renowned throughout the world.
The name of the show, Alegría, a Spanish word meaning happiness, joy and jubilation, was true to its word, and barely a second went by without applause echoing throughout the arena.
Featuring the trademark clowns, top class acrobats and stunning music, Cirque du Soleil features the best of the best and it is pretty impossible to fault such a tightly run ship.
During the two-and-a-half hour production expect to see performers on the aerial high bars fly through the air to catchers swinging more than 40 feet above the stage; plus a mesmerising fire dance, while another highlight is the incredible fem-ale synchronised choreogra phy.
The show runs until Sunday.
