A derelict pub in Bloxwich will be pulled down to make way for a complex of shops, homes and another drinking establishment, under new plans revealed today.
The ambitious proposals have been earmarked for the trouble-hit former Leathern Bottle, in Cresswell Crescent, Mossley, in a bid to revitalise the vandal-hit building.
Previous plans to create homes and shops on the site were rejected by Walsall Council more than a year ago due to concerns over the loss of a public house for another use.
A statement issued by Anthony Foster, on behalf of SEP Properties, says: "The existing public house is currently disused and has reached the end of its useful life.
"It is intended to demolish the existing public house and to provide a new 'L' building which will front both Cresswell Crescent and Margam Terrace."
The new design features homes on the upper storeys, with retail and a pub below.
